2011-04-05TEW Information Update 4-1-11 Regarding The Effects Of The Recent Earthquake / Tsunami
April 1, 2011 To our customers, We would like to provide an update on the current status of Tokyo Denpa (TEW) in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami as of April 1, 2011. First, and most importantly, we would like to convey our condolences to all victims of the earthquake and the tsunami. And we would like to express our sincere appreciation for all the thoughts and prayers from our friends and business colleagues in Japan and around the world. There are three TEW factories within the impact zone of the earthquake/tsunami: •The Morioka Factory •The Kuji Factory •The Ichinohe Factory Factory Status: 1) We are pleased to report there was no damage to these three factories or to the equipment inside them. 2) Thankfully, there were no injuries to any TEW employees. 3) Electricity is available at all three factories. 4) While there have been news reports about rolling power blackouts in Japan to conserve electricity, none of these three factories are in the rolling blackout zone. 5) All three factories have been fully operational since March 16, 2011. We are aware that the earthquake/tsunami has deeply affected other crystal and oscillator companies in Japan. We are working hard to increase our production rates and capacity in an effort to mitigate and alleviate any disruptions in the crystal and oscillator supply chain for the electronics industry. Please let us know if we can be of assistance in any manner and please provide as much forecasting visibility as possible so we can allocate our resources most effectively. Again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for our country. Sincerely, TEW AMERICA
